Cluster Fly

Pollenia rudis

There are a variety of different Species of Cluster Fly. Cluster Flies earn their name from their habit of ‘clustering' together in buildings in vast numbers during the cooler months. They do not usually spread disease but will emit a sickly odour when in large groups. They are difficult to keep out of their favoured buildings but can be effectively eradicated when in situ.
