Case Bearing Clothes Moth

Tineola bisselliella (Hummel)

Very similar to the Common Clothes Moth, this indoor insect feeds on the natural fibres contained within items such as clothes, curtains, and carpets. They love expensive cashmere items! The larvae spin a silken cocoon around themselves, which often includes particles of their food. They carry this with them as they move and have a similar appearance to a grain of rice. The adult moths appear in early summer to early autumn.
