Variegated Carpet BeetleAnthrenus verbasci (L.) A very common insect in Britain, the adult beetles live outside during the summer. The larvae need a high animal protein diet and can be routinely found in dry bird's nests. They usually enter domestic property via the roof spaces and then go on to infest carpets, animal fur and skins causing widespread damage. They will often eat natural fibres found in sweeping brushes and mops! If you think you have a problem with carpet beetles, contact us now for advice or treatment. Conservation status
