Bed Bugs

Cimex lectularius L.

There has been a massive rise in the UK Bed bud population in recent years due to a state of global hyper-mobility. Sometimes originating from Birds' nests, this parasite is nocturnal and usually hides near the host bed during the day in a fissure or crevice. They emerge hungry at night to suck blood from a sleeping individual. One feed will keep them satiated for 3 – 4 days. They are not known to carry disease but may cause irritation, anaemia and fear. They can sometimes prove labour intensive to eradicate but we are specially trained in dealing with bed bugs.
